Q: I HAVE A Z-3080 (90940) SERIES SCANNER. I PURCHASED A NEW CABLE. HOW DO I CHANGE/REMOVE THE CABLE?

Remove the screws at the base of the Scanner. Straighten
out a paperclip and insert into the pin hole at the bottom. This
will release the Cable. Replace the new Cable and make sure
you hear it Click into place. Replace the screws.
IMPORTANT
There are two things to consider if you have purchased a new
cable.
First. Is the cable the same interface (the plug/connector that
goes into the computer) as your original cable?
NOTE: To interface - means making an appropriate physical
connection so that two pieces of equipment can communicate
or work together effectively.
Second. Are you changing to a different interface? For
example, do you currently have a PS2 Keyboard Wedge
Cable and do you now need to switch to a USB Cable?
First Scenario - If youíre just replacing the cable with the
same type of cable, the scanner will be ready to scan
immediately.
Second Scenario - If youíre changing the cable from one type
of cable interface to a different type, then you also have re-
program the scanner to recognize the new/different cable you
have inserted.
If you still have the Quick Set-up Userís Programming Card
that came with the scanner, you can scan the following
sequence of barcodes once you have changed the cable.

Depending on which cable youíve purchased:
